Unexpected Results

My son's science project involving taste tests comparing generic and name brand products yielded this interesting result: in a blind taste test involving Nabisco oreo cookies and Publix oreo cookies, the testers (several members of the family, including Nonna and Nonno) unanimously picked the Publix brand over the Nabisco one. Huh? What's up with that? We were all shocked. Shocked.

I love reading your family adventures. Do you ever read Testosterhome's blog? She has five sons. http://testosterhome.blogspot.com/
You guys need to get together.

Granny Annie-
Thank you for visiting. Blogging is relatively new to me (I started it as a way to organize my writing), so it's nice to get comments such as yours. Yes, I do read Testosterhome and I really enjoy that site. By the way, I love your name and that snazzy photo that goes along with it! God bless.

You know, they say that all those store brand items are actually the "real" items, just repackaged. I believe that is true in some cases - who would know? I prefer many of the store brand products to some of the name brand ones myself - by lots of that stuff. Good project - anytime tasting cookies is involved ... See ya.

Bia- I will have to introduce you to Mrs. Testosterhome one day... she is the neatest person.
Anyhoo... our science project was on which type of bird feed the birds in our yard would prefer... plain Sunflower seed or the Wild Bird seed mix.
During the summer, we would have had to fill the feeders up several times, but the past two weeks yielded very few birds. However, they did prefer the Sunflower Seeds ... Cardinals probably.

I don't think I could have been a "taster" for that one. As soon as I tasted the Oreo, it would have won out. I'm not too into sweets but I LOVE oreos and I've always found their taste distinctly better than others... :)

Then again, we don't have Publix here... perhaps, if I could taste them, I'd make a switch!

So...are you going to send us all some of those cookies? They're not available in my area.
