What am I going to do?

On Monday my husband has to go visit a DOE (Department of Energy) facility in Las Vegas. He will be gone Monday through Thursday; actually, I should say we will be gone Monday through Thursday because, yes, I am going with him.

And here is what I am wondering . . .

Whatever am I going to do for three nights and four days with nothing to do?

What am I going to do with no meals to plan, no laundry to finish, no articles to write?

What am I going to do during the time I would normally run carpool?

What am I going to talk about with my husband when it's just the two of us?

Really, what am I going to do?

Sigh. I'm sure I'll figure something out.

Like maybe this . . .

or this . . .

or this . . .

I am kidding about the last one. It's a Vegas joke . . . a joke, I tell you!

Good Grief.

But really, whatever am I going to do?

Um, you better do some honeymooning (instead of wedding-ing)!

READ! EAT! CHAT!

Talk to strangers! I once went on a mission trip to NYC, and in my "off" time I decided to talk to anyone I could (in NYC for Pete's sake), and I had some of the best talks of my life!

Have fun!

First of all -- Congratulations on the good luck! Second of all -- Seriously, there is SO much you could do: a) get a pedicure -- or just paint your toenails and fingernails without worrying about washing dishes, etc, and messing them up, b) read a book -- with no interruptions or time limits, c) go the Ripley's Museum -- this time of year and early in the day, you'll probably have it to yourself -- and it is verrrry interesting and weird, d) play the penny slots with five dollars worth of pennies and see how long they last, d) get $1.99 shrimp cocktails at the historic Golden Gate Casino, in between shopping excursions (perfect since it's Lent!), e) I just read that the Luxor has the "bodies" and the Titanic exhibit, f) but mostly enjoy the peace and relaxation and quality time with your hubby. (Take a breather for me!)

Add to that, go to daily mass!

I think about what I would do with all the time in the world and why is it when we're out of our Mommy roles, it's so hard to come up with something?

Rest, read, pray, eat a warm meal, savor a class of wine, stay in your jammies, give yourself a facial, sit by the pool.

Can't wait to hear all about it.

Hugs!
