Gosh. Depends on what you're looking to create. Simpler, clearner without, like mg said, but cozier and warmer with. Both look nice, though. Love the painting and the bureau together.
Either - you have such a wonderful decorative touch. I think all my boys will remember of our home is that I was always there to make them a snack when they wanted. Otherwise, beauty ... not so much.
