Lullabies and Fender Benders

To Joey ...

Here's how I knew you were going to be a good father: the first time you changed a diaper you were leaning down close to our son singing a sweet nonsense song, and the fact that you continued to sing even though the dirty diaper was making you gag told me ... oh, he's going to be good.

And you have been.

You are.

During those times of cuddles and lullabies, bedtime stories and little league games, tee times and Penn State road trips,  there were also the dirty diapers and scraped knees, sleepless nights and teen surliness, flat tires and fender benders.

Father, daddy, dad ... you are all those and more, and our sons are richly blessed.

Happy Father's Day!
