This is the most recent creation by Lorenzo Quinn--an artist known for his iconic hand sculptures. Found in the Boboli Gardens in the heart of Florence, GIVE depicts the hand of a man and a woman cradling an olive tree, the serene scene underscoring the relationship of the hands to each other, to the tree, to the earth, and ultimately to humanity and the world. It conveys the act of giving without expecting anything else in return.
And in a world that has gone all topsy turvy lately, this sculpture offers a moment of peace and reflection.
