Friday Favorites (vol 11): surprise packages, baby yoda, witty teens, canal padlocks

 1- Unexpected packages

An old college friend sent me a package with products supporting local businesses in Georgia. And support them I shall. I love a good chapstick and a luxuriant goat milk lotion ... all natural!

Blackberry Farmstead

Blue Haven Bee Company

2- Cute Le Creusets

Wow ... two surprises within a week. These espresso cups arrived in the mail from a special somebody who appreciates my love for coffee.

3- Baby Yoda

When your son works at Publix and sees the cutest reusable shopping bag featuring Baby Yoda, and knowing his mom thinks that Baby Yoda is the cutetest thing evah, he buys it for her.

4- Witty Teenagers

Speaking of the 6'4" bambino ... a conversation.

"Okay. What's that?" he asked, pointing to a pan of roasted vegetables and sounding scared. He is not a lover of vegetables.

"Roasted vegetables," I replied. "Specifically squash, I did not use zucchini because I know you don't like them."

"And HOW is this any better?" he deadpanned.

I laughed. But he ate exactly two spoonfuls anyway without complaining. Well, not much.

5- Photo of the Week

Love padlocks. As seen on the Augusta Canal. Shiny, rusty, whimsical, ornate or plain ... each one tells a story.

[i carry your heart with me(i carry it in]

by e. e. cummings

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in

my heart)i am never without it(anywhere

i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done

by only me is your doing,my darling)

                                                      i fear

no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want

no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)

and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant

and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows

(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud

and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows

higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)

and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)
